Councillor John O’Donnell appears in court on 2015 assault charges

Donegal County Councillor John O’Donnell has appeared in court today on assault charges.
He is charged with two cases of assault at Newline Road in Letterkenny on February 23rd of 2015.
The court was told that the 35 year-old is charged with the assaults on two different people on that date.
He made no reply to either charge.
An application was made for free legal aid on behalf of Mr O’Donnell but Judge Paul Kelly adjourned the case until 24 October and said he will deal with the issue of legal aid on that date.
