Donegal 1-10 Dublin 1-15
Dublin are through to the semi-finals of this year’s All-Ireland Senior Football Championship after beating Donegal by five points in Croke Park.
The Dubs will now face Kerry in the semi-finals.
Jim Gavin’s side led 0-9 to 0-4 at the break with Michael Murphy getting three of the Donegal points.
Ryan McHugh scored a goal out of nothing early in the second half and suddenly it was back to a three point game with Donegal behind, 0-11 to 1-5.
Diarmuid Connolly picked up his second yellow card and the holders were down to 14 min with just 11 minutes gone in the second half.
But Donegal found it hard to lift it against the battling Dubs and continued to squander a number of good scoring chances despite having the numerical advantage on the field of play.
Six minutes of injury time was added during which Dublin were reduced to 13 men as Eoghan O’Gara picked up a red card.
But Paul Mannion then struck with a goal to put the game beyond Rory Gallagher’s side in a hectic last few minutes.
Dublin’s Brian Fenton was then given a black card but it made no difference at this stage.
In the end Dublin won by five points, 1-15 to 1-10.
