A senior National Ambulance Service official has pledged to meet with Donegal members of the HSE West Regional Forum to discuss proposals for the reorganisation of ambulance services in the county.
Cllr Gerry Crawford says in the absence of information, rumours and unconfirmed reports have been circulating about how a number of issues are to be dealt with, including the ‘on call’ nature of the service in Carndonagh and Donegal Town.
Cllr Crawford says one suggestion is that the Finn Valley service may be amalgamated with Letterkenny, and that, he says, is a matter of serious concern.
Welcoming the promised meeting with Area Ambulance Controller Padraig O’Riardan, Cllr Crawford says the aim is to improve the service, and that means bringing in more people and resources, not just moving them around…………….
