Derry City took their first home win of the Premier Division season on Friday night with a 2-0 victory over Dundalk. Fine goals from Gareth McGlynn and Eamon Zayed gave the Candystrips their first set of full home points at the Brandywell. McGlynn’s opener came just after the half hour mark when Patrick McEleney’s excellent work released the winger to force his effort in at the near post. Zayed doubled the lead moments later with a real poachers effort at the far post following good play from Daniel Lafferty on the left. Derry are joint third in the table with Bohemians on 11pts, two behind the leading duo of Shamrock Rovers and Sligo Rovers.
