Donegal County Council is being urged to explore the idea of constructing a wheelchair access boardwalk on Rathmullan beach.
In its response, Donegal County Council says that beach wheelchairs are proving very popular in Rathmullan and elsewhere with plans to introduce the service to other beaches this year.
However Cllr John O’Donnell says while it’s a very positive initiative, one wheelchair is inadequate at certain times.
He believes that a boardwalk could have far reaching benefits for the local community:
