Coastguard withdraws in-shore rescue boats for safety reasons


The Irish Coast Guard has withdrawn in-shore rescue boats at 23 locations around the coast for safety reasons.
It follows a reported malfunction of a key piece of personal protective equipment.
The Irish Coast Guard says it’s actively managing the situation and is liaising with all key stakeholders and Search and Rescue providers.
It says it’s confident of a timely resolution of the matter.
