ASTI to re-enter Leaving Cert talks with Department of Education

The ASTI has decided to re-enter talks with the Department of Education to discuss how this year’s Leaving Cert will work.
The union pulled out of discussions earlier this week over proposals to prioritise a system of calculated grades.
The ASTI now says it’s been told that oral and practical exams as well as coursework will go ahead.
The union also says it’s been assured teachers won’t have to rank their students like last year.
