Tyrone man gets life for Donnyloop murder of Andrew Burns

A Northern Ireland man has been jailed for life at the Special Criminal Court for the murder of Andrew Burns in Co. Donegal, four years ago.
Martin Kelly of Barrack Street, Strabane, Co. Tyrone was convicted in December over the dissident republican shooting on February 12th 2008.
Andrew Burns was shot twice in the back by a gunman linked to the dissident republican group, Óglaigh na hÉireann at Donnyloop, Castlefin in Donegal.
At his trial late last year, 37 year old bus driver Martin Kelly was found to have been part of a joint enterprise in which his role was to lure the victim across the border to his death.
After his arrest  the accused told gardai  in Letterkenny he was in fear for his life as certain people were interested to find out what the police were asking him.
Handing down a life sentence, Mr Justice Paul Butler said he was happy the investigation was continuing as there were at least 2 others involved in this terrible crime.
