Donegal to host two full stages of this years An Post Ras

Donegal will host two full stages of the 2012 An Post Ras.
The stages will be coming to the county between Wednesday 23rd and Saturday 26th of May next.
The race, now in its 60th year, will be a boost for local tourism and will put on show some of Donegal’s most scenic areas.
The Ras will come to Donegal on May 23rd, when Stage 4 will finish in Bundoran.The following day, May 24th, Stage 5 will cover 149kms from Bundoran to Buncrana taking in Ballyshannon, Barnesmore Gap, Ballybofey, Stranorlar, Drumkeen, Maghera Beg, Burnfoot and Buncrana.
Stage 6, on the May 25th, will be a 134km race from Buncrana to Killbegs. The riders will travel through Burnfoot, Bridgend, Letterkenny, Meenirroy; Fintown, Glenties, Ardara, Glengesh Pass, Meananeary, Carrick, Kilcar and Bavin; with the race finishing in Killybegs.
The race will start off in Donegal Town on May 26th as it makes its way to Cootehill via Bundoran.
Donegal will host two of the two of the most exhausting climbs of the race, with cyclists taking the Gap of Mamore in Inishowen, which boasts a gradient that can compete with mountains in the Alps and Pyrenees.
