Letterkenny University Hospital was once again the second most overcrowded in the country this morning, with 48 people awaiting beds, 13 of them on Emergency Department trolleys.
That’s 17% of the national figure of 288.
Today’s INMO figures also show in Sligo, there were 13 people awaiting beds, nine of them in the ED.
That’s a combined North West total of 61 admitted patients awaiting beds, higher than the 58 recorded in Limerick, the most overcrowded hospital in the country.
