A new report in today’s Sunday Independent claims that residents and family representatives of those who were impacted by what was uncovered in the Brandon Report are intending to pursue legal action against the HSE.
The Independent also claims that staff members at the Ard Greine Court Complex in Stranorlar are also looking to pursue legal action over the matter, and that the HSE has been notified of this intention.

The Brandon Report into historical abuse at the residential facility in Stranorlar found that a resident given the pseudonym Brandon, sexually assaulted at least 18 residents at the facility over a period of almost two decades. A total of 108 incidents of serious assault were uncovered by the initial report.
Last week it was also revealed the HSE commissioned a follow-up to the Brandon report, raising fears more instances of abuse may be uncovered.
As of the time of publication, Highland Radio News has contacted the HSE for comment regarding the potential legal action, but as of yet we have received no formal statement from them on the matter.
