Minister of Education Simon Harris has today encouraged students to apply for new student supports.
Applications for the 23/24 academic year are now open with a number of important improvements for students.
Changes to the student grant scheme introduced in Budget 23 will take effect this September.
These include a reduction in the contribution fee of €1500 for families earning €55,240 to €62,000 and a reduction of €500 for eligible house holds earning up to €100,00.
These improvements mean that up to 50,000 undergraduate students could receive support for the first time under the Student Grant Scheme
These changes come off the back of significant increases in the Maintenance grant brought in at the start of the year. Students interested should visit susi.ie to check out the Eligibility Indicator.
