As efforts to reduce road fatalities continue, Gardai are conducting multi-agency checkpoints nationwide.
On Friday, Gardaí from Buncrana Roads Policing Unit were joined by Inspectors from the Office of the Revenue Commissioners as well as those from the Road Safety Authority Ireland to conduct a number of checkpoints.
Gardai have confirmed that a number of offences were detected.
They are appealing to motorists to always ensure your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition, drive at a safe speed, stay alert and make road safety a priority to help save lives.
