Further slip in Sinn Féin opinion poll released today

Sinn Féin has seen a further slip in support in a new opinion poll out today.

The survey also found a quarter of voters want a general election now.

A new Sunday Independent / Ireland Thinks opinion poll out today shows a three point drop in support for Sinn Féin to their lowest rating since 2021, while Fianna Fáil have gained a point.

Labour and the independents are the only smaller parties to have seen an increase, with the Greens losing a percentage point, and the rest staying as is.

Housing, cost of living and immigration are seen as the top three priorities that should be dealt with.

The rise of the ‘far right’ has shot up to 4th in the list – a new entry – following the riots seen in Dublin City Centre.

When asked when a general election should take place, a quarter say now, 40 per cent say next year, and 32 per cent say not until March 2025.

Conor McGregor has also made a feature in the poll – after being accused of incitement to violence during the Dublin riots.

62 per cent believe he should be investigated, and 89 per cent say they would not vote for him if he ran for public office.
