The Ceann Comhairle of the Dáil has told TDs they can’t behave like ‘gurriers shouting on a street at each other’.
The intervention from Seán Barrett came after a rowdy morning in the Dáil – with deputies heckling over home help cuts, the pensions of former bankers and homelessness.
The exchange came shortly after Taoiseach Enda Kenny rejected calls for cuts in home help hours to be reversed.
Fianna Fáil leader Michael Martin highlighted a number of cases where people have had home help services stopped altogether, but the Taoiseach responded that reversing the cuts just isn’t an option…….
