A 100% Redress Party Councillor has told officials in Donegal County Council that she can have 500 social tenants in Lifford tomorrow demanding to be rehoused because of the extent of mould in their defective block affected social homes.
Cllr Joy Beard produced a black jacket in the chamber which is covered in mould, having been taken from the bedroom of a defective block house.
She says the government should be ashamed at the fact that there still isn’t a scheme to remediate social homes.
Cllr Beard says the council must now inspect each and every one of its social housing units for signs of mould and damp, and where necessary, take immediate remedial action:
