Emergency services issue Christmas safety appeal

Motorists are being urged to be particularly cautious during the Christmas period.

It’s as 167 people have lost their lives on Irish roads this year, 18 in Donegal.

Garda Inspector Seamus McGonagle has this appeal for road users.

John Joe McGowan, Chief Ambulance Officer with the HSE says nobody should be grieving a loved one this Christmas.

Meanwhile, Michelle McKenna, who lost her son James during the summer, says people need to think about the consequences of their actions on the road.
