Counterfeit £20 notes are in circulation in the Strabane and Derry areas.
Members of the public and retailers are advised to look out for a lack of 3D braille markings and the absence of watermarks when held against natural light.
The notes do, however, appear to pass the UV light test.
Any encounters with such money should be reported to the police.
