East Donegal Cllr believes Ballybofey is the ideal base for tourists visiting the county

An East Donegal Councillor has proposed that Ballybofey be marketed as a base for tourists when visiting the county.

Councillor Patrick McGowan believes the town is well resourced as a destination for tourists to stay and travel to other parts of the county with a number of blue flag beaches and other visitor attractions located within travelling distance as well as being located close to the border, enabling easy access to neighbouring towns.

He says East Donegal is always lagging behind, but says now is the opportunity to utilise Ballybofey’s hospitality offering:
