It’s emerged that it is taking up to 12 weeks for some homeowners to receive payments upon submitting claims under the Defective Concrete Block Scheme.
Donegal County Council has confirmed that a review of the payment process has been carried out in a bid to improve efficiency.
The Council says realignment of staffing resources and incomplete payment claims led to delays in the processing of some claims.
Councillor Joy Beard pressed for a commitment from the local authority that a clear and accountable target of 3 weeks for payment claims to be made would be set.
However, the Council failed to commit to that request which she says is disappointing:
