A new initiative aimed at supporting unemployed women into sustainable careers has been launched, offering fully funded training and real work opportunities in the construction sector.
The Women in Construction Training Programme is designed to provide participants with the skills, certifications and confidence needed to take their first steps into a growing industry. The course, which runs full-time, includes six weeks of classroom and practical training followed by a four-week work placement with potential employers.
Participants will gain 14 industry-recognised certifications along with essential workplace and employability skills. The programme is tailored specifically for women and no prior construction experience is required.
“This is more than a course — it’s a launchpad into a new career,” said programme manager Brenda Donagher. “The construction sector is expanding, and this training ensures women are job-ready with the right skills and support.”
This programme is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union.
Applications are open to unemployed women motivated to begin a new career path, with the closing date set for September 4th. Interviews will take place on September 5th. With the programme
