There has been a push to see more women elected to local councils.
Of 37 councillors in Donegal, 3 of them are women and only 14 ever have been elected.
A new guide book has been released by the Minister of State on how to run in the local elections.
Dr Michelle Maher, Programme Manager of See Her Elected, says Donegal is behind the rest of the country and the guide could help women in the county in putting their name forward in 2029:
