A murder investigation is underway after a woman in her 60s and a four-year-old boy died in a house fire in Offaly.
The blaze broke out at a home in Castleview Park in Edenderry at about 7.45 yesterday evening.
Another woman, aged in her 50s, is in hospital with serious injuries.
The house has been declared a crime scene, and Garda technical examinations are ongoing. Post-mortems are due to begin this afternoon at Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore.
Investigators believe the home was attacked and that the fire was started deliberately.
