A cow had to be put down after ingesting litter in West Donegal.
Cllr Michael McClafferty says the animal had swallowed a drink can, causing serious injury to its internal organs.
He added that such incidents highlight the very real dangers that litter can pose to farm animals and cost farmers financially.
