No indication that Bluetongue poses a threat to the North West

There is no indication that Bluetongue is a threat to farms and herds in the North West.

In the Dail this morning, Agriculture Minister Martin Heydon said the disease has been detected in four counties ; Wexford, Wicklow, Kildare and Louth.

He said the evidence suggests the disease was carried into Ireland on the south and east coast, and tests are continuing across the country.
