School transport price increases are very worrying – Beard

The school transport scheme is now open for applications for the 2026/27 school year, with concern being raised at the price increases being imposed.

Cllr Joy Beard says it’s unacceptable that in some cases, prices are going up 100% at a time when many families who depend on the school transport scheme are facing unprecedented financial pressure.

The closing date for applications is Friday May 8th, with Cllr Beard saying it’s important people get their applications in as quickly as possible.

She’s asking for the price increases to be reviewed…………..

👉 It is very important that families apply and pay before the deadline, as failure to do so may result in a ticket not being offered.
