According to Mét Eireann’s Climate Statement, published today, it was a particularly windy March in Donegal, with frequent Atlantic systems bringing gales on around nine days at Malin Head weather station.
Both the month’s highest gust and 10-minute mean wind speed was also reported at Malin Head on the 25th, when storm force winds were recorded, with gusts reaching 115 kilometres per hour which was the highest in the country for the month.
