Donegal’s David Kelly has won the Circuit of Ireland Rally to take his first ever Irish Tarmac Championship win.

Kelly, alongside Shane Buckley in a Skoda Fabia Rally 2, finished just 0.5 seconds ahead of second-placed Josh Moffet and Andy Hayes after a dramatic finish in Dungannon.

Kelly had gone into the final stage with a 4.9 second advantage and managed to hold steady to get the victory.

Eddie Doherty and Tom Murphy made up the rest of the top 3, a further 59.7 seconds back from the winners.

Three-in-a-row Donegal winners Callum Devine and Noel O’Sullivan had led the rally overnight but slid into a hedge during Stage 9 today and finished 8th.

Winning driver Kelly also won the Mayo Stages Rally recently, which was his first national win, so it’s a brilliant start to the season’s rallying for the Donegal native.

Here’s the overall top 10 from the Circuit Of Ireland Rally…
