A former Agriculture Minister says the government has a key role to play in agreeing a Common Agriculture Policy budget over the course of Ireland’s EU Presidency.
Minister Charlie McConalogue was speaking as commissioners begin arriving in Cork for a two day series of events in UCC and elsewhere.
He says the government’s prime responsibility is to be an independent honest broker, but there is scope to influence the discussion which the government must use to the fullest extent………….
