A new Community Alert Scheme has officially been launched on Arranmore Island.
The initiative, supported by Muintir na Tíre, encourages local people to work closely with An Garda Síochána to help make the island safer.
The programme focuses on crime prevention, community awareness and encouraging neighbours to look out for one another, particularly older and more vulnerable residents.
Signage promoting the scheme is due to be erected across townlands on the island in the coming weeks.
