Donegal could have a clean bill of health when the EPA publishes its next list of ‘at risk’ water supplies.
When the Environmental Protection Agency published its reported on drinking water quality in 2025 earlier this week, Milford was the only Donegal supply on the Remedial Action List.
The supply has been on the list since 2021 as a result of an excess of trihalomethanes, with June 2026 listed as the completion date for remediation works, including the installation of new specialist filtration systems.
Uisce Eireann has now confirmed to Highland Radio News that the work was completed on schedule, and the supply will continue to be monitored and assessed in line with EPA requirements.
Subject to EPA review and validation of the completed upgrades, Uisce Éireann says it is hopeful that the Milford Public Water Supply can be removed from the Remedial Action List in due course.
