West Tyrone councillor hits out at WHSCT over cuts in cleaner hours

A West Tyrone councillor is questioning the actions of the Western Health and Social Care Trust, where the hours of cleaning staff within the Western Health and Social Care Trust are being cut as part of an attempt to make £41m in savings.

Trillick based Cllr Stephen McCann, a member of Fermanagh and Omagh District councillor says cleaner hours are being reduced from 30 to just 10 for lower paid workers, while 14 senior executives have seen their remuneration increase by 50 % over three years.

Cllr McCann accepts savings have to be made, but says it is wrong and unjust that the burden of cuts are being imposed at the lowest end of the pay scale…….
