There were 42 patients admitted without a bed at Letterkenny University Hospital this morning, the third-highest figure in the state.
That is according to figures published by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
It is a decrease of four on yesterday’s figure.
At Sligo University Hospital, 37 admitted patients were waiting on trolleys, giving a north-west total of 79, just under 16% of the national total of patients awaiting beds in Irish hospitals today.
