The man killed in a suspected hit and run incident outside Bundoran at the weekend has been named locally as Alan Mc Sherry, a native of Liverpool who had been living in County Leitrim for nearly 20 years. He was in his late forties.
In a tragic twist, it’s emerged that Mr Mc Sharry’s body was discovered by his wife on the road about one mile outside Bundoran just after 5 o’clock yesterday morning. Gardai believe he was walking home from Bundoran when he was struck by a vehicle which did not remain at the scene. It’s understood parts of a vehicle were found at the scene, and a fullc investigation is continuing.
Gardai are appealing for information.
