The future of Donegal senior manager Jim McGuinness remains unclear today with the County board executive due to meet tonight to discuss the issue.
On Saturday he met with members of his squad and the Board but it appears that he is not happy with a number of things, including how he was able to prepare his team for the championship and the impact of club championship fixtures.
Speaking on television yesterday, McGuinness said that ‘all the systems have to be in place’ for him to continue and he doesn’t “want to be manager for the sake of it’.
In the Donegal News today County Chairman Sean Dunnion says “the committee can find common ground with Jim Mc Guinness to enable the Glenties man to remain as the Donegal senior team football manager for 2014.”
Meanwhile there were reports over the weekend stating that McGuinness’ role with Glasgow Celtic Football club is set to increase from three days a week to five days a week.
