Yesterdays Historical Enquiries Team report into the killing of Billy McGreanery by the British Army in Derry in 1971 throws up serious questions in the run-up to the publication of the Saville report, according to Foyle MP Mark Durkan.
The former SDLP leader said the revelation that the then Attorney General Sir Basil Kellys view that soldiers should be immune from prosecution is highly significant given that Bloody Sunday occurred six weeks later.
And Mr.Durkan says yesterday findings now have people questioning did Billy McGreanerys murder pave the way for Bloody Sunday.
