Donegal stay top in Division 2 of the National League, but they were given by far their toughest test of the season in the 1-12 apiece draw with Meath yesterday.
Michael Murphy scored the equalising point from a free with practically the last kick of the game in Ballybofey.
With three wins and a draw in their opening four games Donegal remain 2 points clear on 7pts with Monaghan Armagh and Down on 5pts.
Meath led early on by 6 points to 1, but Frank McGlynn’s goal made it 0-7 to 1-3 just before of half-time. Meath however immediately responded with a goal from Mickey Newman.
The second half seen Meath go four ahead at 1-9 to 1-5, but points from Colm McFadden and Christy Toye drew them level before a grandstand finish saw Meath lead in injury-time.
Murphy’s point squared it up and ref Padraig Hughes blew for full time.
