There were a few starring performances for Donegal Athletes at the National Senior Track and Field Championships in Santry. Tir Conaill’s Mary Mc Loone won her sixth National title taking Gold in the Triple Jump on Saturday. Mary also won Silver in the Long Jump. Finn Valleys Tori Pena competing in her first National Championships in Ireland set a new Irish Record in the Pole Vault of 4.15m on route to the Gold medal. Maria Mc Cambridge of Letterkenny AC won the 5000m while Aaron Crawford from Strabane won the Javelin.
Letterkenny’s Darren Mc Brearty who is off to Canada for the World Juniors this week won a silver medal in the 800m. Tom Carey of City of Derry took Silver in the 400m Hurdles, Geraldine Stewart of Tir Conaill was a Bronze medal winner in the Shot and Brendan Boyce also won Bronze in the Walk.
