Independent Cllr John Campbell has been appointed has the first
Cathaoirleach of the newly formed Donegal County Council.
His vice chair will be Independedent Cllr Nicolas Crossan.
The two were finally chosen after lengthy discussions between parties
and independents that lasted from last night to the early hours of
this morning, and further discussions took place again this morning.
Then just before 4 o clock this afternoon, Cllr John Campbell was
confirmed as the new Chair, the Mountcharles teacher said it was one
of the proudest days of his life…..
Meanwhile, the new Chair has not ruled out travelling to America for
St Patricks Day, even though he has has been critical of the trips in
the past.
Cathaoirleach, John Campbell says he would need to see an itenary of
any trip abraod before he would agree to go:
