Derry suffer Europa first leg defeat

Derry City lost out 1-0 to Shakhytor Soligorsk in the second round of the Europa League qualifiers tonight at the Brandywell.
The games only goal came in the 28th minute when Shane McEleney’s back pass was intercepted by Nikolai Yanush.
There was too little pace on the pass with Yanush going on to easily round Derry Keeper Ger Doherty.
Derry put in a good second performance and may feel they derserved at least a draw.
It’s advantage Shakhytor ahead of next weeks second leg in Belarus.
