A Derry man who was described in court as ‘a link in the chain of supply of drugs’ has admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis valued at £120,000.
42 year old Richard Callaghan of Rathmore Crescent appeared at the Derry Crown Court today, where he admitted two charges of being concerned in the supply of Class A and Class B drugs on June 13 last year.
A defence barrister said his client accepted he assisted in unloading the drugs from the boot of a car.
He said there was ‘a substantial amount of drugs’ and the case ‘clearly passes the custody threshold.’
A prosecution barrister said that Callaghan was a ‘link in the chain of the supply of drugs’ but that another person was the actual courier.
Callaghan was remanded in custody to appear for sentence on June 15.
