A man has appeared in court in Letterkenny today charged with two counts of criminal damage after an attack on an Orange Hall in Convoy last year.
The damage caused to Convoy Orange Hall and Convoy Presbyterian Church was almost a quarter of a million euro.
Eamonn McGill, from Macmeenstown, Convoy, faced two charges of criminal damage causing €245,000 worth of damage to Convoy Orange Hall last October.
He was also charged with causing €800 worth of damage to a church on the same day.
He is charged with causing criminal damage by fire to Convoy Orange Hall, and he is further charged with causing criminal damage to the door of Convoy Presbyterian Church.
He was arrested in Letterkenny this morning.
The court heard he had replied ‘not true’ to each of the charges when they were put to him earlier today.
He has been remanded in custody to appear in court again later this week.
