Donegal farmers welcome potato compensation announcement

The IFA in Donegal is welcoming confirmation of a compensation scheme for farmers who suffered damage to potatoes and vegetable crops during the severe frost in December and January.
The government says the scheme is designed to provide a limited and targeted financial contribution to certain potato and vegetable growers who suffered losses of at least 30% of the total crop.
Application forms will be available from next Monday, with Tuesday week the closing date for applications.
