Fire Fighters and Defence Forces winning battle against gorse fires

Fire fighters and the defence forces are continuing to battle raging gorse fires in West Donegal which, they say, were started deliberately.
Three army corps helicopters, two of which are equipped with Bambi buckets, have been deployed to assist. Each bucket is capable of carrying twelve hundred litres of water.
Fires have been reported across the county in Inishowen, Ballyshannon, Ardara and at Glenveagh National Park.
MEP Pat the Cope Gallagher surveyed the scene in West Donegal earlier – he says firefighters appear to have the blazes under control.
