There were 21,700 people signing on the Live Register in Donegal at the end of May. That was down 27 on April,. but up 309 from May 2010, an increase of 1.4%.
The highest increases were in Letterkenny and Killybegs, while falls were recorded in Buncrana and Dungloe.
There were 6,106 signing on in Letterkenny at the end of last month, 310 up on the same period last year, a rise of 5.4%.
In terms of percentages, the highest rise was in Killybegs, where a major jobs initiative was launched at the weekend. The office there recorded 1,375 people on the register, up 8.5% on May 2010.
There were1,593 on the register in Dunfanaghy, up 1.3%, while three office remained almost static. Ballyshannon had 1,539 signing on, Donegal Town 1,367 and Ballybofey 2,664, all of them recording increases of less than 1%.
In Buncrana, there were 4,849 signing on, a fall of 2.5%, while there were 2,217 on the register in Dungloe, a fall of 1.5%
