The Vice President of the INTO is in Donegal today for a meeting to discuss the campaign to reduce class sizes and protect smaller schools.
Brendan O’Sullivan says Donegal has a far higher proportion of 1 to 4 teacher schools, and the highest proportion of minority schools in the country, but it seems these facts are being ignored by the Education Minister Ruari Quinn.
He says today’s meeting at the Villa Rose Hotel in Ballybofey will build on last month’s public meeting in Letterkenny, and see to ensure that in next week’s budget , measures are included to protect smaller schools.
Brendan O’Sullivan says with around 600 million euro less to be cut than had been expected, the protection of education must be prioritised………..
