European arrest warrant being sought against brother of double killer John Gallagher

jgallA European arrest warrant is being sought against the brother of double killer John Gallagher in connection with a car ramming incident in Donegal earlier this year, a solicitor has claimed.
47-year-old John Gallagher, appeared in the dock of Strabane Magistrate’s Court this morning ahead of a contest against a harassment charge tomorrow.
Gallagher faces two charges of harassment, one relating to his brother Donal and a second against his sister, Helena.
The charge of harassing Donal Gallagher was brought following alleged encounters between the men in Strabane between May 12 and May 15 this year.
In developments this morning however Strabane solicitor Oliver Roche told the court that gardai had informed him that Donal Gallagher had admitted smashing John Gallagher’s windscreen during a family row earlier this year.
He said a bench warrant had been issued for Donal Gallagher in connection with the incident.
The solicitor also said that gardai were investigating Donal Gallagher over an incident in which his brother’s car was rammed near Lifford on August 16.
The solicitor claimed gardai were seeking a European arrest warrant for Donal Gallagher in the case.
Further details will be aired when John Gallagher contests his harassment charge at Strabane Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
