SFAI investigating alleged racist chants at under-age soccer match in Donegal

footballThe Schoolboy Football Association of Ireland is investigating claims that a 14-year-old African-born player was racially abused during an underage game in Donegal at the weekend.
The incident which happened during the U15s cup match on Saturday has been reported to the FAI and the SFAI.
The alleged incident is being investigated following claims that a referee stopped the match for a time after monkey chants aimed at a teenage African born player were heard coming from a small section of the crowd.
The 14-year-old whose family moved to Ireland in 2007 was said to have been left in tears by the incident.
The General Secretary of the SFAI, Martin O Hanlon has confirmed today that they have been made aware of the incident and they are investigating.
He said they will now be liaising with the referee and others who officiated at the match
