Cross-border hunt after armed gang attempt to rob Bridgend petrol station

A cross-border manhunt has been launched after an armed gang attempted to rob a petrol station in Bridgend.
Three men – armed with a suspected gun and a sledge hammer – attempted to rob the Texaco Filling Station in the cross-border village at around 640am yesterday morning.
It’s understood they fled in a white ford focus estate with no number plates. Gardaí have liaised closely with the PSNI in their bid to identify the gang.
They are following a line of inquiry that the Bridgend incident may have been linked to an earlier incident in Ballykelly, Co.Derry.
