Irish mackerel quotas to double following agreement with Norway and Faroes

Donegal fishermen are set to have their mackerel quota for the North East Atlantic almost doubled after an agreement was reached last night.
At an EU meeting in London attended by represetatives from Ireland, Norway and the Faroe Islands an agreement was reached to increase the mackerel quota for Irish fishermen.
The deal will see the quota increased from a 57,000 tonnes to a 100,000 plus tonnes.
